The Consulting Division is a specialist unit within Mazars with an expertise spanning a wide range of areas. We support clients across a range of sectors including public sector, semi state, heath, financial services, SMEs, corporates and charity & not for profit.

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious and outgoing individual to work as a manager in our finance decision support team on key consulting projects. Core service areas for the successful candidate will include

  • Financial Modelling - design and review
  • Decision Support Financial Analysis / Data Analytics
  • Public Spending Code
  • Capital Appraisal to include Cost Benefit Analysis, Cost Effectiveness Analysis and Multi-Criteria Analysis
  • Post Project Reviews
  • Value of Money Analysis
  • Ad-hoc financial consulting assignments
  • Economic Analysis
  • Funding Model Reviews
  • Costing (ABC etc.)
  • Ad-hoc financial consulting assignments

The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver solution-based projects to our diverse client base. While we use a number of tools and methodologies, we customise our solutions to the needs of individual clients and thus we must rely on high quality professionals who have the ability to create, innovate, improve, problem solve and quickly understand a client’s needs and challenges.

The right candidates must have a proven track record operating in a financial role ideally as a qualified accountant preferably with experience of management consulting gained in a professional services environment. Knowledge of the Public Spending Code, capital projects and economic analysis would be a distinct advantage.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients
  • Responsibility for ensuring the quality of deliverables for clients
  • Managing small teams on project delivery
  • Submission of proposals in response to requests for tenders
  • Project management, planning and initiation
  • Design and implementation of methodologies
  • Financial modelling design, review, and support
  • Undertaking analysis (verbal and written) and drawing conclusions as appropriate
  • Conducting client meetings/workshops
  • Ensuring high quality deliverables (including written reports, models, PowerPoint presentations etc.)
  • Contribution to business development where appropriate

Job requirements

Principal Requirements

  • Relevant third level qualification
  • 5 – 7 years post qualification experience as a minimum
  • Qualified accountant is an advantage
  • 5+ years consulting/client advisory experience is preferable
  • Creative in service and solution development
  • Problem solver, highly self-motivated
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • Economics experience is beneficial
  • Excellent communicator across written, verbal and visual communication forms
  • Capacity to build long term relationships and act as a strong influencer
  • Able to adjust style and attitude and communication to a diverse client base
  • A thorough understanding of business models and how businesses operate together with a good grasp of the economic context around business
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven success in team management and leadership
  • Strong project management experience
